Who is Janet Thompson?

My interest started with Norwex products because of my little girl. She was five months of age when I joined the Norwex team and I knew this would change our lives. I really felt that a chemical free environment would be a great benefit to all our family. I discarded all the cleaning chemicals in our home and can now feel totally comfortable about my daughter crawling on a chemical free floor. I give her toys a wipe down with a wet Antibac Enviro Cloth and I know these are safe for her little hands and mouth. Now I don’t have to worry about the dreaded chemical cleaning cupboard under the sink!

I was born in England and immigrated to Canada with my family when I was young. I married a Scotsman who also immigrated when he was young. He had been playing in a pipe band since he was 9 years of age starting off with the bagpipes then going from tenor drum to bass drum. After becoming familiar with pipe bands my interest started with joining as well. My journey started with a small Legion pipe band and then I joined a grade 2 competing pipe band and played tenor drum with them for 4 years. I went to Scotland with the grade 2 pipe band and competed at the World’s Pipe Band Competition in 2000. My husband has been playing in the Sir John A. Macdonald Pipe Band since the early 1980’s. I joined Sir John A. Macdonald Pipe Band in 2001. We compete throughout BC and into Washington State. It’s a great hobby and you work as a team. It’s also a great social activity as the pipe band circle is a big family.

I love to do crafts and I really enjoy working on stained glass. I have stained, painted and etched Scottish themed glassware that I also sell.
